SUSTAINABLE ALTERNATIVE: KAUFLAND SELLS INSECT BURGERS

From this week insect burgers are available at Kaufland. Noodles and muesli from insects will be available from mid-April. The main ingredient of insect burgers are Buffalo worms. They are bred and processed with the latest technology and great care in the Netherlands. The insect burgers have a high content of proteins, minerals and vitamins and are a sustainable alternative to traditional burger patties.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTS

The products are manufactured by the German company Bold Foods. The burger patties avilable at Kaufland are the flavors tex mex and rice. They contain a proportion of Buffalo worms of over 30 percent in the form of a protein powder. In order to save resources, the use of soy is explicitly avoided during production. The 200-gram pack of insect burgers is available at € 5.49.
